Governor AbdulRazaq Inspects On-going Constructions, Renovations at Kwara Stadium

Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State on Sunday conducted an unscheduled visit to the state stadium complex, where he inspected on-going construction and renovations at various sports facilities.

Governor AbdulRazaq who was accompanied by the Executive Chairman of Kwara State Sports Commission, Mallam Bolakale Mogaji expressed delight with the progress of work done at the stadium.

Other sports facilities inspected are the new squash hall which is 95 percent completed as well as the newly completed table tennis hall.

Fortunes smiled at the table tennis players as the governor approved an immediate installation of solar lighting to enable the players train anytime of the day. This came after he met players training in the dark.

Speaking to journalists during the inspection, the Executive Chairman, Kwara State Sports Commission, Mallam Bola Magaji, commended the Governor for his positive efforts in the sports sector, describing him as “Wonderful Governor’.

“His prompt release of funds is making things work for us like magic, you can imagine just today, (on Sunday), His Excellency congratulated Eniola Mariam Bolaji for making Kwara proud” he said.

In the same vein, the SA Security to the Governor who was also at the stadium during the visit was full of praise to Mallam AbdulRazaq for massively changing the face of Kwara through the projects he is undertaking.

He highlighted the need for a functional 24-hour police post at the stadium to safeguard the facilities and ensure security.

“The evidence is everywhere. This is one of the biggest sports halls in Nigeria, when completed it will bring development to Kwara. There is no state in Nigeria today that can match Governor AbdulRazaq’s achievements in sports.

“He had changed the face of sports facilities, the new squash hall, the new table tennis hall, handball court, swimming pool and now the indoor sports hall are all evidence of his achievements.

“Just today, I discussed with the Executive Chairman Kwara State Sports commission the need for us to have a functional 24 hour police post at the stadium, we need to guide all the facilities when completed.

“The stadium itself is a big village, one of the biggest tourist attraction centers of the state and lives and properties need to be guided.
