Nasarawa State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Othman Bala Adam has reiterated Government’s continuous support to the State-owned football club, Nasarawa United.
The Commissioner gave the reassurance when he visited the team’s training session at the Lafia City Stadium on Thursday morning.
Othman Bala urged the Players to “Have more hunger for success and endeavor to sustain the tempo.
“Hunger for success is what will make the difference.
“This is a team with so much competence in its fold, and from what I have seen during the training programmes, I am optimistic you will do us proud as we expect nothing but a positive outcome.”
The Commissioner revealed that Government is committed to fulfilling all its obligations with the team for better performances.
“We have talked about Enhanced Salaries, and the Club’s Management had defended that very well.
“Under the responsible administration of Governor Engr. Abdullahi Sule, with all sense of modesty, before the end of next week, we should be able to sort out the various aspect of it and meet other obligations due to the club”, he stated.
Reacting to the Commissioner’s visit, Club Chairman, Barr. Isaac Danladi expressed delight and thanked him for showing up at the team’s training session to encourage the boys.
“We are highly delighted to have the Commissioner in our midst today, in spite of his very tight schedules.
“You can see the excitement in the faces of the players. We are highly motivated and encouraged”
“We want to appreciate the Honourable Commissioner, because, under his leadership, Nasarawa State has actually blossomed in the aspect of youth and sports development.
“We want to encourage him to continue to give his best in the interest of service”
“I’m not surprised at his disposition because he has been a sportsman of high repute.”
Isaac Danladi who doubles as NPFL Club Owners Association’s chairman said he was optimistic of the club’s continuous rise on the ladder, not minding its current status.
In a separate development, Nasarawa United Club Chairman, Barr. Isaac Danladi has congratulated fellow NPFL side, Enyimba International of Aba following their 2-1 victory over Al-Ahly Benghazi of Libya in the first group match of the CAF Confederation Cup played at the Enyimba International Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.
The Solid Miners’ supremo described Enyimba’s victory as a step in the right direction.
“It was a massive victory. Whenever you are playing against the Arab clubs, it’s like playing thirteen people because they always come with all sorts of tricks
“It’s a very physical game, but the commitment and experience of the Aba Elephants on the continent gave them an edge over their Arab visitors.”
He added that the NPFL Club Owners will continue to rally around the two-times CAF Champions league winners, in whatever capacity, to qualify from their tough group.
Austin Oladapo and Victor Mbaoma scored Enyimba’s goals while Imhamed scored Ahly’s consolation.
