Goalkeeper Believe Imiete believes that the 1-0 score-line that defeated his Cynosure FC side was an unfair reflection of the game against Lobi Stars in the Gov Okowa Pre Season Tourney.
Cynosure FC fell to defeat thanks to a spot-kick from substitute Julius Aghahowa, but Imiete believes that only tells half the story.
“Putting to one side the first 15 minutes, in which they had been better than us and made us work, we played pretty well, we bore the burden of the game and were equal with the opponent, but you have to score to win,” he ruefully reflected post-match in a chat with Gov Okowa Pre Season Tourney Media.
“When they were perhaps at their worst and static, they let us have more of the field and waited for the counter-attacks, and then they scored.
The teenage keeper outlined his plan to be a great shot-stopper in future.
“In games, I usually learn from great goalkeepers especially those I play against. My ambition is to be greater than the best goalkeepers so as to play for the national teams and eventually take my game to Europe,” he concluded.
