Beyond Limits FA of Ikenne striker, Kparobo Ariehri has downplayed his team’s massive winning margins in their first two matches at this year’s Gothia International Youth Cup in Sweden.

Coach Olumide Ajibolade’s team opened their account with a 5-1 trouncing of GIF Sundsval on Monday, followed by a 5-2 cruise against Rosenburg Ballkulb on Tuesday, with Kparobo netting a hat trick in the first and brace in the second.
The youngster admitted he was happy with his feat of five goals in two matches, but stressed that the squad will not get carried away by their results.
With Sunday Ogbonnaya and Muhammed Abdullahi also having scored in the first match, Kparobo pointed out that none of the players is selfish for personal glory.
He stressed that they will continue playing as a team, and all the players would stay calm in every match, because they are not desperate to win the cup.
Rather than set eyes of returning to Nigeria with the trophy from Sweden, as they did earlier this year with the Viareggio Youth Cup in Italy, Kparobo pointed out that Beyond Limits’ focus is basically on developing the future potentials of their players.
“We go into a competition with a mindset of taking each game as our final match,” said the Ikenne-based club’s top scorer.
“Like our coach says, it is not just about winning matches but about improving ourselves with every game.
“We don’t come into a competition with a mindset that we must win it, but our focus is on getting better with each match and being better than each team we play against.”
As they now prepare to tango IFK Goteborg on Wednesday, Kparobo stressed that he will not think of personal glory, as collective development of the entire team is what their coach always teaches them.
Kparobo added, “Our collective mindset is on bringing out our best game. The development of our talent as a team is always on our mind.
“Looking at the top players in Europe shows us that we have the quality to also be mentioned the same way they are getting it.
“So, we are not getting distracted by our victories.”
The free scoring sensation, whose goals helped his side win this year’s Nigerian National League (NNL), however, admitted that he wants to keep on hitting the net, though he is never selfish about it.
Kparobo added, “After scoring here, just as I also did in the NNL and The Creative League, I still want more goals.
“I always tell myself that the only competition I have is with myself. That’s why I must remain disciplined, determined, confident, and always believe in myself … because other people believe in me.
“So, when I see the ball, I know the place for it is in the net.”
