Gombe United will visit Wikki Tourists in a day-35 fixture of the Nigerian Professional Football League, NPFL game on Sunday.
Though both teams are quite safe considering the distance to the drop zone, they will be playing to consolidate thier place in the table as both teams still stand a slim mathematical chance to play a continental game next season but only if they win all remaining matches and hope other teams drastically drop points.
Wikki Tourists took the better of Gombe United in the reversed fixture in a 1:0 victory as Gombe United will be looking for a revenge on Wikki.
Coach of Wikki Tourists, Abdullahi Adamu has charged his boys to be calm and calculated while prosecuting the game. In an interaction with press men during the team’s training session,
” I want the boys to be disciplined and calculated while on the field and I really want them to believe in themselves if we want to get an optimal results”
Meanwhile, Wikki Tourists will be without 5 top team players for the North/East derby on Sunday. Uchenna Udeh, Taiwo Murtala, Solomon Chigoziem and Sunday Haruna will not be available for selection.
Reacting to the absence of key players, Coach Abdullahi says there is no cause for alarm as his team has other players to fill voids like this but solicits maximum support from teeming fans.
