Gombe United Football Club is delighted to announce the official retention of Coach Bala Nikyu as the team’s Technical Adviser for the upcoming season.
This decision comes after his significant contributions to the technical crew during the second half of the previous season.

Coach Nikyu has signed a new one-year contract, solidifying his role as the head of the Gombe United with a clear mandate to lead Gombe United back to the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
In a move to bolster the team’s technical prowess, the club has also appointed Abdullahi Haruna, affectionately known as Alampase, as the new Chief Coach.
These appointments are part of Gombe United’s strategic efforts to bring experienced and forward-thinking leadership to the club.
The official contract signing ceremony was conducted with due ceremony, featuring the unveiling of Coach Nikyu by the General Manager, Abubakar Abubakar.
The event was attended by notable figures, including the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Abubakar Ibrahim Njodi, who was represented by Mr. Yakubu Sarma, the Gombe State FA Chairman and Senior Special Adviser on General Duties to the Gombe State Governor.
During the ceremony, General Manager Abubakar Abubakar expressed profound gratitude to Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for his consistent support of the club, emphasizing that this backing is crucial as the team embarks on its journey back to the NPFL.
He stated, “The decision to bring Coach Nikyu to lead the team is driven by his impressive track record. We firmly believe that with his experience and dedication, he will guide Gombe United back to the top tier of Nigerian football.”
In his address, Mr. Sarma urged the club’s management to reflect on past experiences and strive for greater success. Coach Bala Nikyu, in his remarks, reaffirmed his dedication to the club, pledging to work tirelessly with the team to achieve their objectives and bring pride to the fans.
