As the 2023/24 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season kicks off this weekend, Gombe United has taken proactive measures by conducting ECG scans and tests on all their players.

This comprehensive health assessment was carried out in preparation for their matchday 1 encounter against Sporting Lagos at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Lagos.
The medical staff and team doctor of the Savannah Scorpions were on hand to oversee the process, which included both old and new signings.
The tests took place at the club’s medical center in Gombe on Tuesday, ensuring that the players are in optimal health as they embark on the new season.
Abubakar Abubakar Yellow, the club’s General Manager, commended the medical staff for their diligence in conducting the assessments. He emphasized the importance of player health and well-being, stating, “It is paramount for the club to conduct these tests and scans on all our players as the new football season begins this weekend.
We need to know the health conditions of our players, as it is our number one priority. We must take care of our players medically.”
Yellow also highlighted that the ECG scans and tests are part of the CAF Club Licensing requirements, emphasizing that Gombe United is fully equipped with qualified medical staff to meet these standards.
Recently reappointed by the Gombe State Executive Governor, Alhaji Muhammadu Yahaya Inuwa, Abubakar Abubakar Yellow expressed confidence in the team’s performance this season.
He assured fans of a successful outing as Gombe United embarks on their journey to face Sporting Lagos in matchweek 01 of the 2023/24 Nigeria Premier Football League season.
