Golfers Olusegun and Danjuma emerged victorious at the recently concluded 14th Professional Golfers’ Association (PGA) of Nigeria Qualifying School (Q’School) final examination held at Python Golf Club in Port Harcourt, taking home substantial cash rewards.

The winners also received additional gifts and pledges from corporate bodies, enhancing their achievements.
Olusegun, representing Ikoyi Club 1938 Golf Section, claimed the top spot in the men’s event, earning himself a cash reward of N250,000 courtesy of NGF President Otunba Segun Runsewe, along with a N100,000 reward from PGAN Executive Director Tony Philmore.
Furthermore, Runsewe promised both winners a year-long kitting sponsorship deal, adding to their accolades.
In the women’s category, Danjuma from IBB International Golf and Country Club, Abuja emerged victorious. She was awarded N200,000 by the NGF president and an additional N50,000 from the PGAN executive director. Runsewe’s commitment to providing the winners with a sponsorship deal for their golfing needs further solidified their achievements.
During the opening ceremony, Philmore had pledged N100,000 for the men’s event winner and N50,000 for the women’s event winner, reaffirming his support for the golfers. Runsewe’s prompt action in fulfilling his pledge demonstrated his commitment to promoting and recognizing golfing talent.
An elated Olusegun expressed his gratitude for the rewards, considering them as motivation to work even harder on improving his game.
He extended his appreciation to the PGAN director and the NGF president for their generosity and for fulfilling their pledges.
