In preparation for the upcoming WAFU B U-17 tournament, Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets defeated high flying Tripple 44 FC on Thursday three goals to one at the old parade ground in Abuja.
With the victory, Golden Eaglets put an end to the Europe-bound Academy 30 match unbeaten record.
The academy who are preparing for a European tour of Germany and Sweden fell to three goals to one defeat with their records shattered.
The nervy contested clash saw each team show grit, determination, and hunger for victory.
The technical crew started with tested players and also went on to introduce competing substitutes from the bench.
While it’s still early days, sources within the team alluded that the win was a confidence-booster for the team, as they get set to storm Ghana next week.
Ahead of the U-17 African Cup of Nations, Golden Eaglets will face the black starlets of Ghana and Junior Hawks of Togo as they fight for the tourney ticket.
