Golden Eaglets on the brink of elimination from WAFU B tournament after 1-1 draw with Ghana

The Golden Eaglets of Nigeria drew 1-1 with the black satellite of Ghana in their final group match of the ongoing WAFU B Tournament currently taking place in Togo.

Fatai Amao’s side were held by their Ghanaian Counterparts in Lome, Togo to place them in a dicey situation and on the brink of elimination from the competition.

The Golden Eaglets took the lead in the 77th minute of the game, through Joseph Arumala from the penalty spot.

The Black Satellite of Ghana equalized in the 84th minute of the game from the Penalty spot as well, after Nigerian Goalkeeper, Destiny Emuwahen brought down a Ghanaian player inside the box to make it 1-1, and so it ended.

The draw means that Fatai Amao’s side no more have their qualification fate in their hands, as they await the result of the match between Cote D’Ivoire and Ghana on Tuesday to decide their qualification destiny.

Nigeria will hope that Ivory Coast defeats Ghana on Tuesday to ensure qualification to the semi finals, because a draw or a win for Ghana will all but signify the end and the exit of the Golden Eaglets from the WAFU B Tournament.
