Former Lobi Stars of Makurdi coach, Godwin ‘Koko’ Uwua has blasted Nigerian soccer administrators over what he called backwardness in the country’s soccer sector.
Making his critical view known in an interview with sports247.ng, Uwua stated that football administrators are the bane of Nigerian football, as they are only politically appointed to run the game.
He reckoned that all administrators get positions in football without any prior experiences.
Uwua added that, until the practice of political appointments is changed in the country, Nigerian football will continue to slide downward.
He also admonished those in charge of the league to find a solution to the ongoing promotion impasse and ensure a quick start to the season.
Uwua fired: “The new season is overdue. The NNL and the club owners should reach a truce over the number of teams that will feature in next seasons NPFL.”
