Edo Queens solid Defender, Glory Ogbonna was the only player from the Nigeria Women’s Football League that made the starting XI for the Super Falcons in the game against CSKA Moscow at the Turkish invitation cup.
Ogbonna was so proud of the feat and hoped to be able to give as much as expected of her. “I feel great and it’s a great honor for me. As a player I always want to play matches, I always want to give out my best so I’ll be selected and I was happy to start the game,” Glory said.
Glory Ogbonna who is also the captain of Edo Queens is seen as one of the best defenders in the NWFL had a good performance in defence as the Super Falcons ran out 1-0 winners over the women’s team of CSKA Moscow and Glory feels she can recover in time for the next game. “I’m very proud of my performance today and I can say that I have the fitness within me to recover quickly, make tackles and also have confidence. I was really happy about my performance today,” she said.
“It was a great start knowing fully well how long we’ve not been together to play and know ourselves but it was good to start with a victory and I know that the next match will get better,” Glory added.
She also praised the relationship she had with the other defenders who started the game stating that there were understanding and coverage for one another.
