Nigeria U-20 women national team coach Christopher Danjuma has called on Nigerians to be patient with the Super Falcons after the team’s shock defeat to the Bayana Bayana of South Africa in their opening mat of the Africa Women Cup of nations in Ghana on Sunday.
Danjuma who tutored the Falconets coach to the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup in France is of the opinion that the team will pick up from the defeat of their first match, learn from their errors and march on to get the maximum points against shock table toppers Zambia on Wednesday.
Danjuma noted that no player or coach will want to lose their matches, stressing that it’s just the first game of the competition and the focus should be on how to qualify for the world cup instead of seeking faults for a game that had already ended.
The Super Falcons have who have won the Women’s Cup of Nations officially eight time are currently third on the table and will likely fail to qualify for the Semi Final if they fail to beat red hot Zambia on Wednesday.
The 2018 AWCON is also serving as qualifier for the 2018FIFA Women World Cup to be staged in France from June 7 to July 7, 2019.
