Speaking exclusively to Sports 247, Mukaila humorously declared, “You know, definitely Ghana Jollof is sweeter than Nigeria Jollof. Yeah. That’s why we beat you people.”
Despite the lighthearted banter about culinary preferences, Hakeem Mukaila acknowledged the intensity of the match and praised his team’s collective effort. “The game was good and I think we played as a team. That’s why we are able to win 3-1. It wasn’t an easy match though, because Nigeria people have professional players that are in Oman playing professionally. I think we did very well. That’s why we deserve it. So, we take the victory,” he elaborated.
Looking ahead, Hakeem Mukaila expressed confidence in Ghana’s prospects, declaring their intent to secure the gold medal. “Yeah, absolutely. We are going for gold. So we are going to meet, I think, Egypt next two days and then we play Egypt and when we win and go to gold, then we go play the finals and we win,” he affirmed.
As Ghana prepares for their upcoming matches, including a crucial encounter against Egypt, Mukaila’s words reflect the team’s determination and ambition to claim the ultimate prize at the African Games. With their sights set on gold, Ghana’s volleyball team aims to continue their impressive performance and make their nation proud on the continental stage.
