The defending champions of the West African regional Youth baseball5 championship Ghana and their West African neighbour Benin Republic both arrived Lagos, Nigeria yesterday evening ahead of the championship which begins on Saturday.

While the defending champions arrived by 5:30pm on Thursday, Benin Republic arrived later same day by 6:15pm.
Both teams who are neighbours to Nigeria opted to arrive via land and have since arrival checked into their hotel rooms in Surulere ahead of their various encounters.
Ghana will begin their title defence with a Jollof derby against Nigeria in their opener by 10:30am WAT, Benin Republic will be expected to take on Tunisia in the second match of the championship immediately after Nigeria and Ghana clash.
With the arrival of the two teams, all the expected teams for the championship are now on ground and all is set for the championship proper.
