Former Super Eagles midfielder, Edema Fuludu has sent a charge to the Nigerian national team coach, Gernot Rohr to look at new players before making his final list for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
Although Fuludu admitted that current set of players gave their very best during the qualifiers, he is of a view that adding fresh blood and new talent to the squad would give them variety at AFCON 2019.
Fuludu stated further in a chat with sports247.ng that Rohr should give room for some other players to be seen before the continental soccer showpiece, as that would give more competition in the battle for shirts.
Fuludu expatiated: “I believe that players should be chosen not based on fitness alone, but also on competition in training.
“With a vast array of choice, the coach would then be able to check his tactics and see which of the players can fit in.
“In that regard, the level of game intelligence shown by each player will be a strong yardstick in selecting those that will go for the Nations Cup.”
