Striker of Tico Football Club, Peter George said his fans should expect more goals from him in the ongoing Lagos Divisional Football League which kicked off two days ago at the Railway Institute football pitch, Yaba.
George said this after he scored brace in 2-1 defeat against Melody FC in the opening LDFA League which witnessed by LDFA board members led by Akintunde Tinubu.
The light skinned striker told Sports247.ng that he was happy to score the two goals for his club and thanked his teammates for their support to achieve his target.
“it was a good start for me and i am particularly happy to have scored two goals for my club.I am using this medium to dedicate the goals to my teammates who are supporting me and always encourage me in my football career,”he said.
Asked what his target in the league, George said he wants to win the highest goal scorer and help his club to qualify to the super four.
“Scoring two goals is a good things to come.My fans should expect more goals from me and as a striker, i want to win the highest goal scorer and help my team to win the league,”he said.
Commenting on the league, a board member of Lagos Divisional Football Association, Remmy Awosanya expressed satisfaction with the standard and organisation of the league and urged players and coaches to remain a good ambassadors of their clubs.
14 teams are currently taking part in the league and two teams in each group would qualify for the super four at the end of the league.
