The management of Gateway United has commended the Governor of Ogun State Prince Dapo Abiodun for his consistent support for the club even in the face of the novel Coronavirus.

The acting General Manager who received the executive members of Sports Writers Association Of Nigeria SWAN Ogun State chapter at the club Secretariat today confirmed that Gateway United have continued to fulfill their contractual obligations to the players and officials of the team despite the hardship caused by Covid-19.
He harped on the fact that the Governor despite the Covid-19 Pandemic which has crippled businesses and put on hold several means of generating funds for the state has ensured that the team do not only receive salaries but they also get paid as and when due
While addressing the newly elected Ogun State SWAN executives who paid him a courtesy visit, the Administrator said “I have that confidence that the Governor is very much ready for us, unlike some other state-owned football clubs. With the responsive government we have, Gateway United Football Club is not owing a dime as far as salaries are concerned. The governor is aware Football has not been in session but he still keeps paying.
He also lauded Ogun State Commissioner for Youth and Sport, Dr. Oluwadare Kehinde for his unalloyed support. “Most times the Commissioner for Sports will be the one to request for our salary file. So that’s why I’m stressing that this time around it would be a very different era positively once Football is safe to return in Nigeria.”.
He appreciated the Ogun SWAN executives led by Alhaji Hakeem Akintunde and assured them of all necessary Support and cooperation adding that Gateway United and Ogun SWAN are partners in progress.
