Gateway United FC emerged as the standout winners at the maiden edition of the NNL Monthly Awards, securing two top honors—Best Behaved Team and Goal of the Month, courtesy of Taofeek Babatunde’s stunning strike.
Receiving the awards in Abuja, the club’s Acting General Manager, Niyi Soleye, expressed his delight, praising the initiative for recognizing outstanding performances.

Babatunde Taofeek’s sensational curler in Gateway United’s 2-0 victory over First Bank on Matchday 6 at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena was voted the best goal of the month.
The forward picked up the ball on the right flank, cut inside, and unleashed a breathtaking curling shot that kissed the crossbar before bouncing into the net—a goal deemed unmatched.
Gateway United also earned the Best Behaved Team award for their discipline, professionalism, teamwork, sportsmanship, and exemplary conduct on and off the pitch.
