Gateway United will leave nothing to chance in the bid to pick first maximum three points against Rovers FC in Calabar in the match day 4 of the 2018/2019 NNL, says captain Omoyayi Saburi, sports247.ng can report
Following the resignation of coach Akeem Busari after a 2-3 home loss to table toppers Nnewi United, Gateway United will now slug it out with Rovers FC with a view to putting topflight league qualification back on track, says Moses Ojewunmi
“Nothing less than 3 points in Calabar. Of course the sudden resignation of coach Akeem Busari poses a big challenge but we are motivated to secure our first victory. Our first home game was a draw followed by a stalemate in Edo, unfortunately, we lost a vital home match on Wednesday but the game is still open. We are battle ready for the match” he said.
“We all like coach Akeem Busari and his philosophy of football. So we never doubted his capabilities or downed tools but unfortunately we couldn’t hit the ground running in this current NNL campaign and we have to respect his decision. For now, Rovers game is our focus. If there’s one thing we have learnt, it is that there’s no regard for home ground, If Dynamite could defeat Rovers in Calabar in matchday 1 then it’s a doable task. We only hope and pray for fair officiating which will give both teams a level playing field” he concluded.
The Ogun State outfit have arrived Calabar for their third game this week. U.J Esuene stadium will play host to the clash by 4pm tomorrow Saturday 4th April, 2019.
