Ex-international winger, Garba ‘Chindo’ Lawal has charged all players invited to the Super Eagles’ camp for Saturday’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against face Libya to give their best in the match.
Lawal, who starred and scored for Nigeria at France ’98 World Cup, said in an interview with sports247.ng that the only way the players can justify their call to the national team is by winning at home in Uyo.
Lawal stated further while speaking to sports247.ng that it is the dream of every player worth his salt to feature at the highest level of the game for his country.
With that in mind, Lawal stressed that any player who fails to carve a niche for themselves in the nation’s colours on Saturday should not blame the coach for their performance.
“It is not always good to blame coaches for a team’s defeat,” said the former Roda JC Kerkrade of Holland star.
“The coach knows the players he wants to give him the desired result, so it is up to the players to enter the field of play and do the right thing.
“That is why all the players the coach has invited for this match against Libya must justify themselves by doping well and giving us the result we want.”
