The Ogun State Football Association Chairman and member of the NFF Executive Board, Ganiyu Majekodunmi, has lauded NFF President Ibrahim Gusau for demonstrating exceptional leadership, as work commenced on the NFF-FIFA Players’ Hostel and new training pitches at the MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.
Speaking at the groundbreaking event graced by key stakeholders, including FIFA representatives, top government officials, and football legends, Majekodunmi emphasized that the project is a testament to Gusau’s visionary leadership and commitment to Nigerian football development.
“This is a landmark initiative that will significantly impact our football ecosystem. President Gusau has shown that he is not just a leader but a reformer who prioritizes the growth of the game.
This project will provide world-class facilities for our national teams and help reduce the financial burden of external camping,” Majekodunmi stated.
He further praised the collaboration between the NFF, FIFA, and the government, noting that the project aligns with FIFA’s infrastructure development agenda and will serve as a legacy for future generations.
With the backing of key figures, including the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, and FIFA’s Gelson Fernandes, the initiative has been widely regarded as a major step forward for Nigerian football.
