Following his side’s 3-0 thrashing of Urimi Fc of Port Harcourt in the final of the ‘Game On’ footballing competition, Coach of 36 Lion Fc, Akinshola Francis has commended the efforts of his players, stating that they corrected their mistakes of the previous encounter, when they managed to scale through on penalty shoot-out against B.E Arena Fc.
Reacting with Sports247 after his team emerged as Champions of the 2-day soccer event, Coach of 36 Lion Fc, Akinshola Francis commended the efforts of his players for emerging victorious in the competition, stating that his players played to his instructions and corrected their mistakes of the previous encounter, where they managed to scale through, via a penalty shoot-out victory. He also stated that the target always of creating his team (36 Lions Fc) is for his players to get lucrative football deals abroad.
“My boys really tried their best today, unlike the previous encounter, where we managed to scale through by penalty shoot-out. We had to go back home and prepare thoroughly for today’s match, that was what gave us the victory because my boys played to instructions today and corrected their mistakes”.
“We believe that football is all about Fitness and skills. Fitness has to be 70percent, while Skills might be 30percent. So you have to merge both”.
“Our target always is to help the players gain lucrative deals abroad,” he admitted.
In the 3rd place match, B.E Arena Fc defeated Freiburgerweg FA 1-0 to win the bronze medal.
The Sports Kindergarten International (S.K.I) will hope to continue their vision of helping to promote Grassroots football in Nigeria, in their next footballing programme.
