This ambitious project, strategically located adjacent to the NFF Headquarters at the MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, aims to provide top-tier accommodation for the nation’s football teams.
With the soaring costs of housing players and officials during international duties, Gusau’s administration—now 28 months in—has prioritized cutting down these expenses.
The funds saved will be redirected to critical areas such as grassroots talent development and upgrading Nigeria’s football infrastructure.
During the site inspection, key officials, including NFF General Secretary Dr. Mohammed Sanusi and Technical Director Coach Augustine Eguavoen, scrutinized the location’s accessibility, security, and proximity to training facilities.
Discussions also centered on project funding, private-sector partnerships, and a clear timeline for execution.
With the NSC backing this visionary project as part of its broader mission to elevate Nigerian sports, the NFF National Teams Hotel is set to become a game-changer in the country’s football development.
If executed successfully, it could redefine how Nigeria prepares its national teams for global competitions, cementing the nation’s status as a powerhouse in African football.
