Nigerian Born Humphery Edobor Gabriel inspires Vanung University Taiwan to win the National Amateur Basketball Championships Finals against Hsign Wu University 89-66.
The Nigerian Sensation who inspired Vanung to the UBA Division 2 Championship in the 2020/2021 Season now added another championship to his belt.
Vanung started the tournament with losing their opening game by 2 points but Bounced Back in their subsequent 4 games leading to the title.
In Game 4, Gabe was outstanding with 22 points 13 rebounds and in Game 5 The former Extra Joss Fighters of Cambodia Small forward turned out a 20 points and 7 rebounds.
In the semi finals, The return of injured Jay eased off the pressure on Gabe as they faced an Amateur team with Size Advantage but Vanung’s team work helped them prevailed as Gabe provided 17 points 9 rebounds and 4 Assists to help Vanung to 89-66 win.
The Finals Against Hsing Wu University was a battle of two rivals.
Vanung had beaten Hsing Wu twice in the last One Year. Their last encounter was a place in the Division 2 playoff to qualify for Division 1. Vengeance was in the mind of Hsign Wu but Vanung kept their cool and came with a Tactical plan.
Gabe was more aggressive and Vanung took a 20 points lead at half time.
With 18 points and 8 rebounds from Gabe, Vanung won 80-62
