Humphery Gabriel is having a mixed feeling as he prepares for his PL debut come Tuesday 17th December 2024
The Former Taiwan Beer forward who was unveiled on Friday following his Transfer from Taiwan Beer Leopards is excited about the opportunity to play his first game in a familiar environment.
“My First game with my new team ( Ghost Hawks) is pretty much where I am from, Taoyuan, where My college is and its the same court where I was with the leopards.” he said
Gabe’s registration for the League was approved right on time before the match and he is definitely going to be in Coach Koener’s Plan.
“I am not sure i would start, but definitely would be ready when called upon”he said
Asked about how he feels going back home for his first game the former Grizzlies of Colorado springs star said “I feel very good, I have never played any competitive game on that court before, always been there as a spectator and dream of playing one day and so excited my dream has come true” He enthused.
Gabe will definitely feel at home in Taoyuan and the fans will troop out to cheer him. Most of the fans have been sending him messages since he was unveiled and social media has been buzzed with positive comments from the fans.
“I have received loads of messages since Friday, My Facebook, Instagram and other social media has received several comments wishing me well and i sincerely appreciate them all” he added.
The 26-year-old arrived at the Shao Tsung Gymnasium in Tainan City on Tuesday morning to start tests ahead of his anticipated switch to the South Taiwan City Side
Gabe is a Nigerian Born Forward player who was drafted to the Taiwan Beer in the SBL in 2021 before joining Taiwan Beer Leopards in the TPBL in the summer. He has barely played for the Leopards in the league despite staring for them in an International Invitation in Japan.
