A twisted fate of mixed reactions it was for James Ogbonga as he was awarded the Haggai Most Valuable Player in The Charlessan FC 1-0 loss to Danjuma Babes and the man drew encouragement from it all.
Speaking to Sports247, James expressed disappointment at the loss but stated that the MVP award will spur him to action.
“It’s always good to go home with 3 points which we didn’t and that’s not making me happy at all but then the MVP award will encourage me to do more and forge ahead in the future,” said James.
James, the captain of the side also explained that it was rather “unlucky” for them to concede the goal in the first half which has condemned them to two straight defeats now.
“We fought so hard in the game from the beginning to the end but we were so unlucky to concede the early goal which kept us behind and coming into the second half we still did a great job but it was a game of hard luck for us,” James told Sports247.
“We’ll try to concentrate more and encourage the boys because we’re still young and coming up so we shouldn’t focus on the past defeat but work harder to do better when tomorrow comes,” the captain added.
The Charlessan FC sit in 7th position on the Fusion table with 10 points from 7 games after earning 3 wins, a draw and 3 losses.
