On Sunday, Ajuwa FA registered their fifth win of the 2021 Fusion Football Championship in six games after defeating Emmydinho FC 3-1.
With the win, Ajuwa FA moves to the first position in the league standings with 15 points and having played one more game than FC Bethel Int’l in second place on 13 points.
Ajuwa FA captain Sodiq Musa who was also on the score sheet for his side spoke with Sports247 after the game.
“It was a very nice game. We worked very hard to win this game because we know where we are going and what is expected of us. We tried our best and work very hard, including the coaching staff. They have been trying their best to make us come as good as this,” the center-back said.
Musa made comments about his side struggles in the earlier stages of the game,
“We tried out new tactics in the first half but it didn’t work as planned. We wanted to get the first goal early, that was why we were kind of under pressure. In the second half, we played our real game.”
He concluded by saying, “As I’ve said earlier we have really worked hard for this spot. We are aiming to be at the top of the table. And I believe we will maintain it till the end.”
