In a thrilling encounter at the Agege Stadium on Wednesday, Starbase FC came out 4-3 victors over rivals North York FC in the opening fixtures of the Fusion Football Championship.
North York fought back from going down 3-1 to even the score before another turn of events saw Starbase snatch the win late on.
Despite the result, Starbase Coach Olu Akinfolarin expressed his dissatisfaction with his players for almost letting the points slip. He told Sports247:
“I am not overly happy with my boys because they almost let the game slip. It could have ended in a draw. We would try to rectify that problem.”
Pressed on where he expects his team to be on the log come to the end of the championship, Olu said: “I want to be part of the first four and I still believe that when we work very hard we will get there.”
