North York coach Ishola Lateef has slammed his players’ for their lackadaisical display in wake of the team’s defeat against Team 360 on matchday three of the Fusion Football Championship 3.0.
Lateef allayed that his players did opposite of the instructions they were given by the technical team hence not being able to avoid the 3-2 collapse against Team 360 FC at the Surulere Legacy pitch.
Speaking after the game in an exclusive interview with Sports247.ng, Ishola who couldn’t hide his displeasure over the loss admitted that they lost the game in all aspects, “we lost in everything and why I said that is because the boys are not ready to listen to instructions, if they had listened to what we told them to do, we wouldn’t have lost the game.”
“In the second half, I gave them a definite instruction but they failed to abide by it. The third goal scored which was the wining goal wasn’t supposed to happen but it’s just so unfortunate because we needed our attackers to score and not the defenders.”
“Our key influential player was off because he’s nursing an injury and you can see the way he played forcefully because we don’t have a better replacement.”
“We had one U-17 player in the middle to help him manage but it just didn’t work. They kept kicking him but he wasn’t protected by the referee and we have little power in that aspect, we can’t go there and do anything against the official.”
On what the fans should expect in the team’s next game – “We will do our work more better because we are looking forward to the Super Four. They just need to follow the instructions that we give them.”
