Goshen Stars FC manager Abiodun Samuel has described his side’s run of poor results in the 2021 Fusion Football Championship as ‘frustrating’.
Goshen Stars who won last year’s edition of the Fusion Football Championship (then called Surulere Regional League) are without a win after seven matches having drawn five and lost two.
“It’s frustrating but it is part of the game. When you are the defending champions you don’t expect to have it easy the next time around,” Abiodun told Sports247.
“We are trying to bring in a lot of new guys into the team. We are gelling and tho we’ve not gotten a win, we are very hopeful and optimistic at the right time it will come.”
Abiodun, however, is upbeat despite his team’s early-season struggles. He added:
“Talking about morale, the morale in our camp is not down. We know what’s at stake. We expected the pressure to be on us because we are the team to beat. Everybody wants to play Goshen Stars. It’s like you want to play Real Madrid.
“We are aware of that fact and our morale is high because we expected tougher games. And you’ll see us coming out stronger in our next game.”
