FC L-Mirado opened their 2021 Fusion Football Championship campaign with a 1-0 win over Danjuma Babes FC on Tuesday.
Chinonso Uzoma strike in the 40th minute proved to be the winner of the game.
Post-match, the club founder of L-Mirado Miracle Obidike who also plays and acts as head coach of the team spoke to Sports247. Obidike expressed his delight for his side to have come out with a win and said he was happy the team competes in the Fusion Football Championship.
“I am very happy to be part of the (FFC) platform because I believe with this platform players can showcase themselves.”
Asked about his motivation for running the club, Obidike said:
“Being a founder does not mean that I am old. Some of my players are older than me. Having the team is a kind of vision. I was 23-years-old when I started the team. Up till now, I’m still running the team.
“I want to teach my boys how to play good football. Am also the coach of the team but I am looking forward to somebody that will take over as coach.”
