Sporting FA who has only one point so far in the competition lost 2-1 to a resilient Isaac Siasia’s led Golden Heritage at the Surulere Legacy pitch.
“Football is a game of win and loses. In the first half, we gave them a lot of respect but when we saw what they had, we came out in the second half although some tactical changes were made, it was a very good, close ended game,” he stated of his assessment of the game in the post match interview with Sports247.ng.
“Inexperience is a thing, just look at one of my striker who went out of the game and he knew how important he was, he ought to make the gestures to us so that he can change his boot and also an own goal did us dirty.”
“The second half was a little bit balance but that’s football for you.”
Ahead of thier next game, Coach Isiaka has this to say;
“We take every match as it comes, we are not going to any drawing board, we will work on our mistakes because today we had to re-shuffle the team and it was okay and that’s what we will try to work more on.”
“The weaklings among them will be removed because this is a new team playing the league for the first time but it’s a very good experience.”
“The aim is to expose them, so, I’m not looking at the results as the core objective but how well they are playing and developing as individual.”
“Not that we don’t have any ambition, of course we do but we want to be better in our structure and development as a team while looking forward to other games ahead of us.”
