Moses Simon, a key player for FC Nantes, has been instrumental for his club, contributing to 15 goals this season, with seven goals scored in the league.

Moffi, who recently reached the milestone of 50 Ligue 1 goals, is also in contention, increasing the chances of a Nigerian player winning the award as Vincent Enyeama in 2014 and Victor Osimhen in 2020 were recent winners of the award from Nigeria.

The Marc-Vivien Foé Award is an annual recognition of the best African player in Ligue 1, a significant honor for those nominated alongside other top African talents. The award is named after the late Cameroonian footballer Marc-Vivien Foé, who played for Lens and Lyon in Ligue 1.

However, Simon and Moffi face stiff competition, as they are among 12 contenders announced by RFI and France 24 on Tuesday, April 1st.
