They were relegated in the 2018 season of the NPFL, three years later they are back. Remo Stars FC Captain Nduka Junior praises his team for securing the promotion ticket as it has been the goal since they got relegated.
Speaking to Sports247 at the club’s promotion party earlier today, Nduka explained that promotion to the Nigerian Professional Football League has been the target all season long.
“I’m happy to have helped the club gain promotion back to the NPFL. It has been our target right from the first match of the season,” Junior said.
Nduka who has been with the club for the last three years also had a spell with the youth team before being drafted into the senior team and then given the armband and that moment, he made it his mission to get the team promoted or nothing else.
“When I was promoted from the youth team before the season started, I remember telling myself that it was either promotion or nothing and I’m so grateful we have obtained the ticket,” said Junior.
He further thanked the management by buttressing the unflinching information that the players always got their salaries as at when due which is a rarity in Nigerian League. “Yes, (we always get our salaries at the right time) a hundred percent, no doubt about it and I’ll love to say a very big thank you to our chairman,” he concluded.
