Nigerian ex-international, Friday Ekpo has advocated an emergency crisis meeting among football stakeholders in the country to stem the tide of poor results churned out by clubs in the continental terrain.
Ekpo is of a view that Nigeria does not have the best quality of teams representing the country in African club matches, a development he told sports247.ng is due to several factors.
Ekpo expressed concern over the poor representation Nigeria has faced in recent years from clubs on the continent and believes the emergence of the country’s campaigners next season should be different.
The former national team midfielder, who is now a member Akwa Ibom State FA, stressed: “It is high time football authorities at the highest level in the country convened a crisis meeting to figure the best way of identifying the best clubs in the country.”
