According to reports, FC Nantes are interested in signing FC Lorient attacker Terem Moffi this summer. The Nigerian international has established himself as one of Lorient’s important players, scoring 23 goals in the last two seasons, since joining from Belgian team KV Kortrijk in 2020.
As per Les-transferts.com, Moffi has attracted the interest of the 2021/22 French Cup winners. Nantes are said to be interested in him as a replacement for Randal Kolo Muani, who is due to join Eintracht Frankfurt in July after signing a five-year contract with the Bundesliga club in January.
Moffi, 23, is under contract with Lorient until June 2024, but he could be tempted to leave the Ligue 1 strugglers, with several other clubs keen. He scored 8 goals in the 2021/22 season, a decrease from the previous season when he scored 14 times.
Moffi began his professional career with Lithuanian club FK Kauno Zalgiris in 2017. He later moved on to another Lithuanian side FK Riteriai, where he enjoyed a productive spell, scoring 20 goals between 2018-2020.
He was snapped up by KV Kortrijk in January 2020 and after half a season there, he transferred to Lorient for a fee of €8m. Moffi has made 72 applications for Les Merlus since then, scoring 23 and assisting on 7 occasions. He debuted with the Nigerian national team in a 1–0 loss to Cameroon on 4 June 2021.
