New arrival at FC Twente of Holland, Imoh Fred Friday says he is happy to link forces with the second division club, and wants to help them get good results in the coming weeks.
The former Flying Eagles and under-23 national team invitee is set for a loan deal with the Dutch Eerste Divisie side, which confirmed that they have an agreement to keep him until the end of the ongoing campaign.
The Port Harcourt-born lad, who played from 2013 to 2016 in Norway with Lillestrøm, from which he AZ Alkmaar of Holland on a four-year contract, moved on loan to Sparta Rotterdam in January 2018.
Friday’s new club, formed in 1965, are based in the city of Enschede but, though they were 1926 Dutch champs, they were relegated last term.
Twente relegated to the Eerste Divise by finishing at the bottom of the table at the end of the 2017/18 Eredivisie season, after having fired two managers within the course of the campaign.
Although Friday’s loan transfer from Rotterdam will be finalized only after he gets a work permit, the barging attacker is already excited at the prospects awaiting him at Twente.
Friday said: ”I am happy to be here. I know the club and the stadium, of course, and scored last season for Sparta.
”It was a great atmosphere that afternoon and that impressed me. I am looking forward to playing here in the stadium.
“In the coming months, I want to help the team and I hope to eventually promote with the team.
”I have already spoken to the trainer and other people at the club and I will do more impressions in the coming days. ”
