Super Falcons forward, Francisca Ordega has disclosed that she wanted to play as a central striker with the Nigeria female national team.
In an Instagram chat with the NFF tody, Ordega who operates from the left flank of the attack for the Falcons said she wanted to be like Arsenal and France legend, Thierry Henry.
“when I started watching football, I watched Henry, I really wanted to play like him but when I got the national team, with my height I changed my mind.”
“The likes of Perpetual, Desire, Asisat with their height, I could challenge but I want somewhere I would build myself and I started watching Stella Mbachu back then.” She added.
The 4 time African Women Cup of Nations winner added that she learnt a lot from Mbachu before she retired.
“I knew I had everything, pace, dribbles, skills but I didn’t know how to cross that was what I learnt from her (Stella). I loved watching her back then and I learnt how to cross from her.”
Ordega currently plays for Chinese outfit Shanghai Shenhua after a stint in Spain with Atletico Madrid saw her the Spanish Women’s League.
