Former Warri Wolves and Abia Warriors defender, Uche Ossai, has departed Nigeria for Russia to undergo intensive coaching training with FDC Vista, a renowned football development outfit.
Ossai will participate in training courses and programs with FDC Vista’s expert coaching team, known for their success in player development.
Program facilitator and African coordinator for FDC Vista, Paul Ojo Omamomo, emphasized the importance of Nigerian coaches gaining international experience.
“Nigerian coaches need to upgrade their knowledge to compete globally,” Omamomo said. “Lack of opportunities has hindered their growth, leading to our clubs struggling in continental competitions.”
Omamomo, a strong advocate for grassroots football development, has sponsored numerous Nigerian coaches for CAF and UEFA coaching courses.
His efforts have facilitated the transfer of top talents from Nigerian academies to European leagues.
This training opportunity for Ossai marks a significant step in bridging the coaching gap between Nigeria and international standards.
“More Nigerian coaches will benefit from such programs, enhancing their skills and boosting our football landscape,” Omamomo added.
Ossai’s training stint with FDC Vista is expected to contribute significantly to his coaching development and Nigerian football’s growth.
