Rivers United goalkeeper, Abiodun Akande stole the limelight as he proposed to his girlfriend during a Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) match played between Kwara United and Rivers United on Sunday.
The match which was played at the Kwara State Stadium ended goalless, with Abiodun holding off the threat of the hosts to keep a clean sheet.
The 25-year-old received a standing ovation from his teammates and the fans for his romantic gesture after he made the proposal at half-time.
Abiodun is a former player of Shooting Stars and Sunshine Stars. He also represented Nigeria at the U17, U20 and U23 in the past.
