Fonseca Explains Chukwueze’s Struggles At AC Milan

AC Milan manager Paulo Fonseca has shed light on Samuel Chukwueze’s slow start to the season, despite his promising pre-season performances.

Chukwueze, 25, impressed during Milan’s summer friendlies, scoring against Real Madrid and providing two assists in a game against Manchester City.

However, the Nigerian winger has struggled to replicate that form in Serie A, starting only two games so far in the current campaign.

Fonseca, speaking to the club’s official website, pointed out that adapting to Serie A’s fast pace and tactical demands has been a challenge for the former Villarreal star.

“Chukwueze had a very good pre-season, but I think he needs to build confidence within the context of Serie A, where you have neither time nor space to think and must make the right decisions quickly,” Fonseca explained.

Despite his slow start, the Milan boss remains optimistic that Chukwueze will improve as he adjusts to the demands of Italian football.

Chukwueze joined Milan from Villarreal in the summer and was expected to be a key player for the Rossoneri, but has so far struggled to find his rhythm in competitive matches.
