Promising midfielder Daniel Daga, who impressed with the Flying Eagles at the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup, has sealed a loan deal to join Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) champions Enyimba.
Daga made the transition to Enyimba from Nigeria National League side FC One Rocket, showcasing his ambition to compete at a higher level within Nigerian football.
The 16-year-old talent, who has attracted interest from several European clubs, will have to wait until he turns 18 to make a move abroad.
In the meantime, he’s committed to continuing his development within Nigeria’s top-flight football.
Daniel Daga had a challenging previous season while on loan at Dakkada.
His limited appearances were mainly due to injuries and international commitments, but his potential was evident during his time on the field.
Enyimba, who are two-time African champions, secured the young midfielder’s services and included him in a recent friendly match against Bayelsa United, where they secured a convincing 4-1 win.
The Aba giants are gearing up for participation in the inaugural edition of the African Football League, set to kick off next month. They will face Morocco’s Wydad Athletic Club in the quarter-finals of this continental competition.
Daniel Daga’s loan move to Enyimba provides him with an excellent platform to further develop his skills and gain valuable experience in the highly competitive Nigerian league.
As he continues to shine on the domestic scene, many will be watching his progress closely, both in Nigeria and beyond, with the expectation that he can become a significant talent in the future.
