The coach of Nigeria’s under-20 national team, Aliyu Zubairu has thrown opportunities open for foreign-based players and anyone born abroad to seek spots in the Flying Eagles’ camp.
Sports247 reports that Zubairu made the declaration ahead of the impending African U20 Cup of Nations, where Nigeria will tango Egypt, Morocco, and South Africa in Group B of the competition to be hosted in Ivory Coast.

Zubairu added that players born abroad but are of Nigerian descent and found as eligible to don the nation’s colours would also be invited once the camp reopens.
“We are expecting a lot of players, particularly those Nigerians that have taken their careers abroad, as well as Nigerians living abroad and those born overseas but are eligible. We are expecting a reasonable number of them.
They will join us and, from there, when we regroup again, by the time we reconverge, that’s when we are expecting the foreign-based players to start coming. So, definitely, we are still expecting some new players when camp reopens,” Zubairu projected.
