The team touched down in the Algerian capital full of confidence after securing an emphatic 4-0 victory in the first leg played at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne on Saturday.

With a comfortable lead in hand, the Flamingos are aiming to seal their spot in the next edition of the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup, which will be hosted in the Dominican Republic later this year.

Led by head coach Bankole Olowookere, the Nigerian side has remained focused and determined, maintaining high spirits during their journey and preparations. The coaching staff emphasized that while the four-goal cushion is significant, the team will approach Friday’s encounter with discipline and full concentration to avoid any surprises.

“We are not going to relax,” said Olowookere before departure. “We have a job to finish and we are taking the second leg seriously. The girls know what is at stake.”

The match will take place at the Stade Mustapha Tchaker in Blida, with kick-off set for 7:00 p.m. local time. Victory on aggregate will see the Flamingos book a place at the global showpiece, continuing their impressive record at the youth level.

Nigeria remains one of the dominant forces in African women’s football, and the current U17 squad is determined to maintain that reputation as they edge closer to World Cup qualification.
