Fisayo Dele-Bashiru: Homecoming, National Pride,Dream of the World Cup

Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, the promising talent from the Nigerian national football team, shared his experiences and aspirations as he returned to Nigeria for the first time in two decades.

Dele-Bashiru expressed his joy at being part of the Super Eagles. “I’ve had good experiences so far with the national team.

My first time was under a different manager Peseiro and I already have a few friends here, so everyone made me feel very welcome and it was very easy to settle in with the guys,” he said.

The young player was overwhelmed with emotions on his return to Nigeria. “This is my home, so I had a nice feeling inside when I first landed, seeing all the Nigerians around me.

It’s the first time I’ve ever seen anything like that in person. So it was a nice, warm home feeling that I got when I first landed,” he shared.

Dele-Bashiru is aware of the responsibility that comes with representing a country of over 200 million people.

“It’s not an easy thing to play for the national team, so I’m always proud to play for them,” he stated.

Looking ahead, Dele-Bashiru is confident about the upcoming games. “We have supreme confidence that we can beat the opponent.

So I just think we’ll take these games one by one and hopefully we can get the victory in both of them,” he said.

He also praised the training under coach Finidi George and his new backroom staff.

“The training has been very enjoyable. We’ve also had some running and physical stuff in the training that I’ve enjoyed. So, yeah, I’m liking it,” he added.

Dele-Bashiru concluded by expressing his gratitude to his supporters. “Keep supporting me.

Hopefully I can show you guys what I’m capable of doing, if not now, then in the future. Of course I will.”
