AFCON silver medalist, Emmanuel Okocha has declared that Finidi George was a perfect replacement for him.
Okocha missed out of the tournament due to injury sustained during the qualifiers.
He explained that he had a tissue injury and because of lack of proper medicals back then, he could not recover on time.
” During the qualifiers, I sustained a tissue injury, I was not knowledgeable back then so once I felt better, I returned to play but the injury got worse. I was out for seven months.”
“I played as number 7 because I was the only midfielder who could play in different positions, so when Finidi came on, he was a perfect 7 and a perfect replacement.” He stressed.
Findi George was 20 when he played for the Super Eagles at the Senegal 1992 AFCON where they won bronze medal.
