Asisat Oshoala bagged a brace as the Super Falcons secured a 3-0 win against Slovenia Champions, Pomurje in their final warm-up match ahead of the FIFA Women’s World Cup on Sunday.
The Falcons began strongly against the Slovenians, with Oshoala putting the reigning African Champions ahead in the 18th minute of the game.
The Barcelona Ladies striker added another goal less than 10 minutes later to put the Super Falcons in firm control. Asisat, however, was replaced in the 65th minute as coach Thomas Dennerby aimed to give all his players game time in their final warm-up game.
That paid off, with one of the substitutes – Uchenna Kanu adding a third in the 91st minute to end the scoreline at 3-0 over Pomurje.
The team is now expected to fly out to France on Tuesday, 4th of June after concluding their pre-World Cup preparations.
Next on the line for the Falcons is their opening match against Norway on Saturday, 8th of June at the FIFA Women World Cup.
