Nigeria U17 team qualify for the quarter final of the on going cadre tournament in Brazil after defeating Ecuador by 3 – 2 goals.
Ibrahim Said had a good game having scored a hattrick in the game .
The golden eaglets took the early lead in the 5th minutes of play before the Ecuadorian levelled with an own goal through goalkeeper Junaid on the 10th minutes of play .
After the goal it was a ding dong affair till the end of the half .
As the second half resumed the Ecuadorian played a purposeful game which resulted in a penalty in the 55th minutes of play when Charles Etim tripped an Ecuadorian player in the box, though the referee had to confirmed the foul using VAR, Johan Mina stepped up to take the kick in the 56th minutes, with a well taken kick that send juniad the wrong direction, for once in the game Ecuador went ahead .
The golden eaglets in search of an equaliser mounted pressure on the the opponent which finally paid off in the 85th of play as Ibrahim bend the ball to the far corner of the post which the goalkeeper had no answer for, Ibrahim Said finally had his hattrick in the 89th minutes of play , the eaglets almost made it four but poor finish robbed them of it before the final whistle.
Nigeria next face Australia in the final Group B fixture on Friday.
