Teams taking part in the Betsy Obaseki Women Tournament in Benin, Edo State, will get the best in officiating if the identity of match officials assembled for the games is considered.
This is because apart from having some of the FIFA women referees and others who took part in the just concluded FIFA MA Course in Benin for the tournament, referees of the women and NNL leagues are also involved.
Recall that last week was a festival of refereeing training in Abuja where international referees and elite referees from Nigeria, comprising men and women were assembled for the capacity building MA Course.
Among the women, FIFA Referees and Assistant referees involved in the Betsy Obaseki football show who were in Abuja last week for the MA Course are Fumilayo Alaba, Mfom Akpan, and Beauty Terah. other MA course participants listed for the Benin show are Agbons Faith and Patience Nweke. The rest are drawn from the list of women league referees.
President of the Nigeria Referees Association, NRA, Otunba Tade Azeez enjoined the Appointed Officials to display high-level officiating expected of them during the competition. He wishes all best of luck and journey mercies.
The list of invited officials is already in Benin, Edo State for the competition.
